With over a decade of experience as an active, working musician, Cassandra brings a wealth of musical knowledge and passion to their role as a teacher at Valentine Lesson Studio. Known for their contributions to the band Coyote Kid and their solo project under the name Valentine Ephemeris (formerly Cassandra Valentine), they have cultivated a deep understanding of contemporary music styles.
Cassandra's formal music education includes studies in Vocal Performance and Music Production at McNally Smith College of Music, where they honed their skills and developed a strong foundation in music theory and performance techniques.
In addition to their performance career, Cassandra has a robust teaching background. They spent two years teaching at multiple School of Rock locations across the country, gaining valuable experience in guiding aspiring musicians of all ages and skill levels. For the past four years, Cassandra has specialized in remote voice lessons, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can explore and develop their vocal abilities.
While voice remains their primary focus, Cassandra has also taught bass, keys, and guitar, offering a comprehensive approach to musical education that encompasses both vocal technique and instrumental proficiency.

Remote lessons at Valentine Lesson Studio are conducted online via Zoom. Once you schedule a lesson, you'll receive a link to join the session at the designated time. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a device (computer, phone, or tablet) with a camera and microphone.

You'll need a primary device (computer, phone, or tablet) with a camera and microphone for the video session. Additionally, please have a secondary device for playback of audio tracks, accompaniment, and exercise recordings. Due to potential audio lag during video conferencing, it's important to have a way to play tracks out loud on your end. Optional: For better audio quality, consider using headphones during the lesson.

We have experience teaching students of all age ranges, and all are welcome at Valentine Lesson Studio. For younger children, it's important that they are at a level where they can read and remember lyrics. They should also have the ability to operate technology at a basic level to access the video session. Additionally, they should have the capacity to focus for at least a 45-minute lesson and have the desire to practice outside of lesson times.

To get the most out of your lesson, please find a quiet place where you can ideally close the door and not be disturbed. This should be a space where you feel confident to sing out comfortably. Have a bottle of water nearby to stay hydrated. It's also helpful to have printed lyrics and a writing utensil to take notes as needed during the lesson.
